Snap barrettes are stitched inside 2-inch felt disks:
My daughter test drove a version of these and I was pleased with how well it stayed in her slick straight hair. The felt really helps keep things secure.
Hi Susie - I just love your hair clips! That little red riding hood clip is so very sweet! I can't wait to check out more of your site - very envious of the felt die cutter - my circles are always a bit wonky! (p.s. if you'd like to respond my email is lily@blockaday.com - I've been told my comments leave a no-reply message and I can't work out why!)
Helen- I can easily make these as pins for grownups. send me a convo on etsy or an email (tszig at hotmail dot com) if you are really interested. I'm glad you like them!
I'm a lifelong crafty-person.
I tend to make fiber-art things that involve needles, hooks, or thread. If your Grandma knew a particular fiber craft, chances are that it's on my list of things to make. I also adore vintage textiles and I probably watch at least one vintage film every day. I am a once-and-future elementary school teacher, but I've been home with my 2 school-aged children avoiding housework for more than a a decade.
