Cute Pouches

I've been fiddling away at this pile of pouches for a couple of weeks.

Fabric pouches

Here is a pic of their square gusset bottoms:

I did some Little Red Riding Hood on pink:

Little Red goes with these Wolves I put on blue fabric. Wolf is very interested in that picnic basket full of treats:

My felt appliques are all hand cut and hand stitched. I do use some fabric glue in places like the wolf eyes and nose.

Here I did some more simple sock monkey pouches. I love these fabrics. The Monkey medallion is hand appliqued with embroidery floss:

In order to list these at Etsy, I have to set up all my photo stuff and try to get perfect pictures at perfect angles with perfect lighting... Hopefully I'll get to that this weekend. I hope the sun comes out again here. I switched from hot weather to the mid-50s really fast. Usually some snow flies here by Halloween so I guess it's time!

I gave my RED Pouch to my mom and she Loves it!

Which felt have you used? 100% wool? Thanks!

Nan- This is my wool/rayon blended felt from my collection. I have a bit of 100% wool felt, but it is a natural white color and it was kind of pricey so I can't get up the courage to cut into it. I hope to dye it someday.

Very cute bags, and lovely work (as usual). Is Little Red a Mary Blair inspired pattern? I had unknowingly seen her stuff for years but never realized who she was until a recent swap when someone mentioned they liked her work. Now I notice it all the time. Keep up the craftiness!

Thanks you guys! I'm glad you like them.

Jennyleigh- I had to look up Mary Blair and her work is simply wonderful. Little Red is a very simple shape from one of my Japanese books as is the pouch pattern although I choose my own fabric combinations.

I drew the wolf based on some photographs of wolves. I had a few other prototypes with big teeth that just didn't work.

I really should do a tutorial on sewing up the pouches. It's really cool because you do the lining and the outside with just one seam
